The Estonian University of Life Sciences was proud to host the ENfiber Conference in Tartu from 4 to 6 May 2026, welcoming researchers, scientists, and industry professionals from over 25 countries across Europe and beyond for three days of scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration.
The three-day programme, led locally by Prof. Lisandra Meneses, Dr. Banafsheh Khaleghdoust, and Mr. Ahmed Aboulmagd from the Chair of Biosystems Engineering at EMÜ, was packed with scientific content, featuring seven dedicated sessions, four invited lectures, and a vibrant poster session. Topics ranged from fibre extraction technologies, green processing, and cellulose and biopolymers, to bioactive properties, fermentation, and circular economy policy. Participants joined from countries including Turkey, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Finland, Germany, Israel, Morocco, Armenia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Malta, and Egypt.
We are deeply grateful to all participants who travelled to Tartu and contributed to making this event such a meaningful experience. The breadth of perspectives and the quality of scientific discussion across the three days reflected the strength and diversity of the ENfiber community.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to the ENfiber network for choosing Tartu as this year's host city. We hope all participants enjoyed their time here and look forward to continuing the collaborations that were sparked over these three days.
